Posted on: August 8th, 2008 POD x3 Live

So, i have been absent from the blogging world for a few months, between work and my new dog, I’ve been pretty much swamped, but I’m trying to get back to it.

I while back i bought the new POD X3 Live from Line 6, and after playing with it for a few hours, i noticed what a powerful piece of equipment this is, from the quality of the sounds, to the dual tone capabilities, this pedal board has truly surpassed my expectations. The other super cool thing this piece of equipment has is that connectivity with you computer (mac or pc) to edit anything form a simple sound, to the way the expression pedal affects the delay speed. The possibilities are endless.

After playing around with it for a while, i did what most of the people I’ve read about do, go online and look for patches. That sounds fantastic as a theory, but in reality, it’s a little harder than what you’d expect. The problem is the quality of the patches is not always great. Don’t get me wrong, there are a few good ones, like Benvesco who always uploads patches (that actually sound pretty good!). But i guess it’s not enough.

So instead of complaining about it, i decided to do something about it ;) so, I’m going to try and give something back to the community by creating patches and uploading them on a constant basis. For me, the benefit will be to practice! i never spend enough time with this pedal board to really utilize its full potential, not only that, but I’ll have new patches every week, which, as a guitar player, i can’t complain. I don’t expect to be creating other artists patches, but if one of them happen to sound like John Petrucci’s crazy distortions, well, i wouldn’t be disappointed ;)

Anyway, if you’re interested, and have patches that you wanna share, post them here… all patches welcome ;)
