So I finally took it upon myself to upgrade my wordpress, I think I was like 3 releases behind… the reason why I hadn’t done it was because of all of the horror stories i’ve heard about upgrading. People have problems with it, they loose posts, images, and more. Well, It’s all good in the world of Cursing Angel.
I you haven’t upgraded your version, make sure you do, it has a brand new interface, super easy to use, much more intuitive. Not that the previous was bad, but this is just better
.

Happy blogging!
Someone attending my Flash Class forwarded me this useful resource, just thought i’d shared it with everyone, since it seems pretty useful… It’s basically a way to embed custom fonts into your HTML page. If you didn’t know this, you can only embed a certain group of fonts into you HTML page, well, using this, you’ll be able to apply custom font faces to match your design… This also keeps you from embedding the custom fonts as images… I haven’t tried it yet, but I want to build a test page and implement the code… Thanks Rauno!

Often people ask me: “Where can I find a simple preloader”, or “Where can I get an xml image gallery”, well, after poking around the net, I found this website called FlashDen, it seems to have a vast array of little applications that can make the life of both a non-flash and flash oriented people a little easier. Some of the stuff they have are:
- Animations
- Menus
- Preloaders
- Applications
- Utilities
- Videos
- Fonts
They are reasonable priced, so if you’re looking for a quick way out, this might be a good option.
(By the way, I have absolutely no affiliation with them in any way, I just bookedmarked their page for myself and thought i’d share)

So, after looking at blogs all over i decided to re-design mine, however, as most of us in the advertising/developmet world, time is a very valuable thing, and ofter not easily available, at lease to me… so for the time being, i changed the skin to the one you’re curretnly seeing. Is from Themelab, called “Clear Pixel”.
It’ll do for now
Everyday, Musician’s Friend has this promotion called the “Stupid Deal of the Day”, i’ve found a couple of very good things here, so for all of you musicians, this is a link you wanna keep handy. Today’s deal is not particularly impressive, but there’s clientele for everything i guess

When i started with web design, i always was on the look-out for an interesting, useful site of resources and tutorials. Early on, i came across a website that really helped me, it has now grown into tutorials of a large number of useful programs.
http://www.good-tutorials.com/
They basically are a huge repo of other websites that offer tutorials, tips and tricks on any of these programs:
- CSS
- Flash
- HTML
- Illustrator
- Java
- JavaScript
- Maya
- Photography
- Photoshop
- PHP
- Ruby
- Ruby on Rails
- 3ds Max
Make sure you bookmark this site, cause it can be a life saver.

I saw this site today, i believe they used papervision3D to create some of the sections for the site. It’s really cool stuff, you can fight using either Maradona or Biro-Biro, you can decide who’s better… i especially liked putting biro biro’s hair on top of Maradona! hehe.
Anyways, here it is:

One of the biggest turn offs for people who are thinking about creating a website using flash is the fact that search engines have a hard time read the text content within the flash movie, making SEO , indexing and raking, nearly impossible.
The people at Adobe have developed a solution for this:
“The SDK includes an application named ‘swf2html’. Swf2html extracts text and links from a Flash .SWF file, and returns the data to stdout or as an HTML document.”
