This blog is a compilation of my professional and personal experiences. Here, you will find anything from music, art, flash, inspiration and many more things. Basically, anything I personally think is cool, will be here.
If fire places are your thing, you can certanily relate to these really fancy/modern pieces of art. Glamm Fire presents its products with class, what almost feels like a fashion show, I really felt immersed in the site. Beside the clean design, I was specially pleased with the navigation. Clean interface, but fluent enough to make you want to explore more. I also liked the treatment on the icons, I thought it added a bit of fun to the site. Definitely worth checking out.
Ford came out with a new microsite depicting the all new Ford F-150… apart from the cool site, camera angles, comparison shots, they’ve also included Mike Rowe… As must of us know, Mike has been prettu much the voice of the Discovery Channel, with multiple shows, voice over, and commercials. With a personality that appeals to both men and women, he’s the perfect presenter for an hard working, prone to get dirty, truck… in all, cool site.
I can’t even begin to tell you how happy I was to see this site! I a soccer fan, and a huge Fifa Games Fan! this site strikes both of them… not only that, but it highlights my favorite team… REAL MADRID! The site is about the experience of soccer, and being immersed in the game. Believe it or not, sometimes it gets like that in my apartment… lots of screaming and cheering! It is definitely an awesome game and the site captures the emotion of what it’s like to play it!
Speaking of cool prelaoders, I just saw this site, this is a perfect example of how a preloader can be entertaining… I almost didn’t want the preloader to end… This site is done by Gringo – I Can Bank It – check it out… pretty cool…
So, I’m my class, I always talk about how important preloaders are, and why we should take the time to make innovative preloaders, and entertain the user from the get-go… Most people don’t realize how important these little pieces of art are, in fact, most client don’t want to see a preloader… ugh… However, when preloaders are done right, they can be pretty entertaining… Big Spaceship created a nice little repo of these, and it’s fun to see how much Flash Creatives and Developers have evolved…
Remember, these pieces may soon be a thing of the past with the faster connections and the future of our Digital World…
So, I’ve been trying to get started with P90X and consistently keep with it without breaks, I first got it right before the holidays, but I took a short trip and kinda stopped after just a couple of days. Well, it’s been a week, and I can confidently say that I’m on my way, and there’s no stopping.
For those of you who don’t know what P90X is, you can check it out here (I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO AFFILIATIONS WITH THEM): http://www.beachbody.com/
So far, my experience with this has been painful, I’m really struggling with the exercises at times, but it’s supposed to be hard, otherwise you wouldn’t get the results right?… Even though it is hard, after only a few days doing it, I already feel a change. The first day I bought the pull up bar, I could barely do 3 pull ups. I tried it today, just to test, I was able to pull 7 in a row… I know it’s not much at all, but for a person who’s never put working out in the forefront of this priorities, it’s a big accomplishment.
Last night, I had to do Yoga… ok I know what a lot of you are thinking, Yoga? Flexibility? Stretching?… Let me tell you, it was the hardest, most greatest experience in this program thus far. I was sweating profusely, shaking, feeling the stands, really tough stuff… I normally suffer from lower back pain from always sitting at my desk, I think I have found the solution for it.
Diet has a lot to do with it, but to be honest, I’m not following the program completely. I read through the nutrition guide, and took the most of it. To be honest, I know that I can do a little better on my diet, like stop drinking beer for example… but I also want to keep enjoying the quality of my life a bit . I probably won’t the the full results, but I know I will benefit from it either way.
I will try to give updates every week on my progress with the program. And will be uploading my pictures soon enough. I’m hoping to use the blog as a way to push me forward and see the program through… So, any encouragement is always welcome
So this is the new piece I started, first i’m going to show you the initial image, which I took from a free site called: stock.xchng, if you haven’t been to this site, and need images, you should really bookmark it. Most of the images are royalty free, and if it’s not for commercial stuff, most of the people are cool letting you use their images – I hope the owner of this picture is one of those people
Anyway, onto the image:
And here’s what i’ve got so far… I plan on continuing to work on the image. Some of the basic stuff i’ve done here is enlarge the eyes a bit, and give it sort of a elf angel look. I’ve als played with saturation levels and color corrections. If if get requests later on, i’ll be more than happy to to a detailed tutorial on how I create these pieces.
Again, onto the image:
DISCLAIMER: I’m not trying to kill this beautiful girl hehehe, this is just a distortion of a simple image to reflect my crazy head Enjoy.
I am a Flash Developer, and I love what I do, but I’ve found myself gravitating to Photoshop often to sort of relax and let my creative juices flow. That’s where the whole Cursing Angel comes from. I started creating weird art pieces that sort of enhanced my creativity and let my experiments with Photoshop and photo manipulation.
Here are some of the pieces i’ve created:
So, feel free to drop your comments, i’m always looking to improve my style, and see what new direction I can take. By the way, i’ve started a new piece, which I will be posting next.
Wanted to start this year with a site released by the Swedish Armed Forces, they did a remake on their previous site which used basic funcionality and awesome sound design, to create an atmosphere in which the user had to pass a few tests to proove their worth for the armed forces. I particularly loved that site, my previous post was here:
Anyway, here’s their remake to this great idea, I believe they are using Papervision, but again, simple concept, great excecution, and again taking advantage of sound, which more and more are making their mark on great websites.
