Posted on: October 28th, 2008 ScrollBar

Ok, so I found this on Kirupa.com, it’s a complete tutorial on how to build a scrollbar… NOTE: I haven’t tried doing this tutorial myself, so I don’t know the extent of the code, complexity or ease of use. With that said, it seems pretty straight forward, nothing you can’t follow yourself.

Posted on: October 21st, 2008 Rec Movie Vs Quarantine

By now, pretty much everybody’s heard of the movie Quarantine, I won’t talk about what the movie is about, all I will say is that is pretty suspenseful, with a weird ending… To be honest, I wasn’t too impressed with this rendition of the movie. I first heard of the film by looking at Rec Movie’s website

http://www.recmovie.co.uk/flash/

Here’s the teaser trailer:

Here’s the trailer for Quarantine:

I have to say, after watching both movies, I can say that the original REC Movie was more intense, and really kept me on the edge of my couch. Maybe it’s because I already knew what it was about, the Quarantine fell short of that. Not to say that it is a good movie, but i’ll just say that if you haven’t watched Quarantine, do yourself a favor, watch REC first.

Remember to take a look at a few sites for tomorrow and bring in the features that you like the most about those sites, we’ll talk about them in the beginning of the class. Also, start thinking about either your banners or your porfolio site. Start coming with ideas for the site.

Posted on: October 14th, 2008 Drive Evert Drop

Everybody go green!!! Well, as you may have imagined, even car companies are trying to comply (hmm that’s the first I’ve heard of it). Anyway, take a bunch of cars, and bunch of people to drive those cars, send them somewhere, make them take pictures, and make a website around the whole thing. I know I’m over simplifying it… but it kinda is. Not to say that it is not a great site, cause it is, and it has lots of content. Definitely worth checking out.

Posted on: October 14th, 2008 XM Wild Ride

So, I wouldn’t call this a “Wild Ride” but it is certainly a clever trip. It has tons of cool animation in combination with great soundtracks and funny characters. When I see sites like these, it makes me appreciate what clever animation and simple vector graphics are capable of. Simplicity is winner ;)
